Expertise criteria
Members of the Acceleration Co-op community typically have expertise in one or more of these areas.
Market expertise
You have deep knowledge and understanding in at least one specific market vertical. For example, you might know all about the electric power industry, or all about the medical device industry. This knowledge would typically have come as a result of being a high level executive in a business in that industry, or perhaps as an analyst covering the industry. You would know how the industry is structured, what the main companies are, how businesses typically operate in the industry, what the typical financial operating models look like, how products typically get to market (ie through what type of distribution channel) and similar things.
Technology expertise
You are an expert in at least one area of technology. For example, you might be an expert in techniques for water desalination, or in nanotechnology applied to molecular diagnostics, or in medical device development. This would typically have come about as a result of being a CTO in a business, or a professor studying some type of applied scientific discipline.
General Business expertise
You are an expert in general business areas. This would typically be a result of being a CEO, or General Manager of a business with meaningful revenues or at least 10 employees, operating in some technology market, such as cleantech, medical devices, communications equipment or the like. You would know about (and have personal hands-on experience of) topics like how to develop a go-to-market strategy, how to think about competitive advantage, how to put together a strong team, and how to raise capital. This category of expertise is for people who have substantial, hands-on personal experience, and who have "done it" and not just "read about it".
Other expertise
This category is for those who have substantial expertise and think they would be good members of the Acceleration Co-op community, but whose expertise does not fall in one of the other categories. Please note that at this time we are NOT seeking experts in law, or accounting, or hr, or organizational development.
